Travellers in the Ottawa area do not have to journey to New York City to catch a spectacular Broadway show. From November 15-20, Canada's National Arts Centre will be hosting the hit musical Mamma Mia!, performed by the Broadway Across Canada cast of talented actors and actresses.
This event is sure to get visitors to Canada's capital city dancing in the aisles and clapping their hands along to the show, which was inspired by ABBA's musical repertoire of fun and lively tunes, says the venue's website.
Set along the gorgeous shoreline of sunny Greece, a mother and daughter pair weave through the crazy antics of an upcoming wedding, which brings to the surface some interesting facts about the young girl's father. The soundtrack of the musical consists of 20 ABBA songs that can be enjoyed by both young and old.
A New York Times' theatre review of Mamma Mia! praised its ability to delight audience member of all ages with quirky choreography and a hokey, yet heart-warming plotline. Travellers in Ottawa this fall who are looking to spend an evening smiling from ear-to-ear should consider purchasing tickets for this incredible, infectious and fun show.
